Best Restaurants In Phoenix

These are my favorite four restaurants in Phoenix. I think there is a good mix of types. Some of the best restaurants in phoenix are in the suburbs and neighboring cities. I like to think that Phoenix has some culture and is a mixing pot but it's also very spread out. Certainly as far as food goes Phoenix is a melting pot. Of the half dozen cities I have lived in most of my favorites are here. There are plenty of decent Mexican restaurants as you would expect and being that Mexican food is my favorite it probably doesn't surprise anyone that I love Phoenix for it's culinary delights.

Kyoto Japanese Restaurant:
7170 East Stetson Drive
Scottsdale, AZ 85251
(480) 990-9374
Sure this place might be a little swanky but don't let that fool you. They have vallet parking so you don't have to worry about fighting for a parking spot. The most important thing to know is this place is great. It's family run so you generally get a more personalized experience. This is a great example of why family run is better than franchise. The food is great if you like Teppanyaki but they also have a very cool sushi bar.If your going to hit Old Town Scottsdale don't forget about this gem.

Si Senor Restaurant:
600 North Alma School Road
Chandler, AZ 85224-3660
(480) 857-2082
The only downside to this place is that it's New Mexico style. This could very well be the best Mexican Food restaurant in all of Phoenix. If you like hatch chili then I am happy to tell you that you are in for a treat. My favorite is the chips and salsa which they bring out with four little bowls. A yummy spice green salsa, your regular salsa, tangy sour cream dip, and a bean dip. My tip is to not fill up on the chips because the plates are huge here. But don't fill up on the main course because everyone gets a sopaipilla. I always go for the sugar and cinnamon. If you can find better sopaipilla in New Mexico or anywhere else please let me know.

Pita Jungle:
1250 E. Apache Blvd.
Tempe, AZ 85281
480-804-0234
I hate to list this as one of the best restaurants in Phoenix because sometimes the service is terrible. They have 14 locations including one in the Fashion Square Mall. I prefer the mall location because you order at the counter and I can get a diet coke from one of the other vendors. And to be honest the food seems more consistent at that location. They have a really cool menu. It's basically healthy Middle Eastern food. I love the humas with cucumbers. They have so many cool things to try you will want to try everything. It's one of the great Phoenix success stories that brings a little culture to the city.

Joe's New York Pizza:
7321 East Shoeman Lane
Scottsdale, AZ 85251-3323
(480) 947-5637
I am happy to tell you that there is some great New York style pizza in Phoenix. This place is opened late on bar nights. I love a large pie that you can fold in half as you eat. Also they have some kick ass cannolis which I am told are made fresh daily on site. This is not a fancy place but the kind of place you would expect to find in any strip mall on the east coast.Simply put this place is WONDERFUL.
